A resurrection that is already engaging us

When we speak of the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth, the central event of the Christian faith, people usually think that these are abstractions of metaphysical speculations of little relevance to real life. We hear that these things relate to faith alone, and that they are "unlikely" or even "mythological". Those who think in this way do not know the teaching of the New Testament or they know only a rather limited and distorted version of it. The resurrection of Jesus Christ entails, in true Christian, concrete implications which show themselves in concrete life. It is his personal and verifiable death and resurrection - moral and spiritual, which is possible precisely because it is the resurrection of Christ. What is it? That 's what we examine in the biblical text reserved for this Easter Sunday: Colossians 3:1-4.
